We are seeking a Bid/Pursuit Manager to join our Pursuits team working within our Resilience Business Area. The Strategic Pursuits team is a key part of our sales and business development team, supporting client-focused bid submissions to win new business. You will be joining an established team containing experienced pursuit professionals with a clear career progression path and opportunities.

As Pursuit / Bid Manager you will help to bring together ideas and input from team members to create clear and attractive bids for clients. You will work closely with Pursuit Directors and Leaders, providing bids / Pursuits leadership throughout the Capture Planning (Market to Opportunity) and Bid Delivery (Pursuit to Win) phases to produce compelling, client-focused submissions. The role requires an organized, effective communicator who enjoys working with different people and handling several priorities bids / pursuits at once, paying close attention to detail and being comfortable working with deadlines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create and develop pursuits through MtO and PtW phases.
  • Completion of a broad range of tasks in collaboration with the Pursuit Director/Leader and other stakeholders, overseeing governance of pursuits, ensuring GNG decisions are taken promptly and appropriately and pursuits have signoff prior to submission.
  • Ensure that the stakeholder management and communication plan is implemented so all relevant information and feedback is taken into consideration in the pursuit process.
  • Financial responsibilities, monitoring costs and resource utilisation, escalating any issues for resolution along with the production of regular pursuit project reports, identifying emerging risks and issues and proposing remedial action where needed.

Capture Planning (Market to Opportunity)

  • Create/manage the bid management process for clients.
  • Lead bid / pursuits meetings with clients.
  • Undertake research and collation of material to complete MtO actions.
  • Monitor the client’s procurement portal for document release.
  • Check and maintain an accurate entry for the opportunity in Oracle Sales Cloud.
  • Support the Pursuit Director/Leader in development of Win Themes for Strategic Pursuits.

Bid Delivery (Pursuit to Win)

  • Take a lead on managing the pursuits plan.
  • Manage Tender Queries issued and replies.
  • Produce documents, presentations, and materials to a clear brief using standard formats and software.
  • Lead on Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) submissions.
  • Maintain the pursuit plan (deliverable list, actions, etc.).
  • Ensure the digital PtW process is followed.
  • Plan bid team communication.
  • Compliance and completion checks for bid documents ensuring they are accurate, meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
  • Review and evaluate bid processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the bid process.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, possibly with a relevant professional certification and chartered status.
  • Ideally with experience of working in the energy or water sector.
  • Ability and experience of managing pursuits.
  • Previous work experience in a relevant industry.
  • Previous project management experience, including experience in supporting complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and systems.
