Role description
This opportunity sits within the Asset Management Transformation team, part of our UK Business Advisory (Management Consulting) practice. The team enhances the organisational maturity of our clients to maximise value from built or natural assets over the lifecycle, through best practices, innovation, planning, upskilling, and data-led decision-making, to optimise outcomes for customers, stakeholders, and society in a sustainable way. We are a diverse team of management consultants with an asset management specialism, drawing on engineering, technical, commercial, and business backgrounds.
Our Asset Management Transformation (Business Advisory) team provides advice and delivers change programmes for clients across infrastructure, asset types and sectors including Rail, Roads, Water and Electricity Utilities, Defence, Environment, and Government.
Our experts collaborate with specialists across Arcadis in technical, digital, commercial and other domains, delivering best practice insights and practical implementation guidance. The scope of our services includes the items listed below.
Responsibilities
- Lead significant (and multiple) client projects and accounts from sales/bidding to solution design, activity planning, delivery, and knowledge capture. This includes management of multi-disciplinary teams and achieving commercial outcomes for Arcadis.
- Diagnose and tackle complex asset-centric issues within large-scale engagements; design and implement solutions that deliver measurable benefits and value.
- Lead teams that utilise market insights, trends, risks and opportunities to inform client solutions, recommendations and outcomes.
- Lead business development and sales for value propositions, including leadership of bids, to contribute to growth of the Asset Management Transformation capability and the wider Business Advisory unit.
- Manage the delivery of exceptional client experience from project mobilisation to handover, understanding client needs and building lasting relationships.
- Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader in one or more value propositions; own the continuous development of offerings.
- Be an active member of the UK&I and Global asset management communities of practice, supporting ongoing development of solutions and delivery approaches.
- Provide line management, coaching and mentoring to future talent within the consultant community.
- Support and own aspects of team strategy and capability-building activities; support on-project development of team members’ skills to help achieve career goals.
Qualifications & Experience
Whether from a built asset or consulting background, you will join an entrepreneurial and inclusive team that is growing fast. Ideally you are a proven professional in the natural or built asset environment, with experience in growing a business and building lasting client relationships. You will be a problem solver who can understand clients’ business needs and provide impactful solutions.
You will also have the following key skills and expertise:
- Track record of leading asset management or management consulting projects in relevant sectors (Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Utilities, Defence, etc.).
- Thought leadership in one or more asset lifecycle phases (strategy/planning, design/build, operations/maintenance, or decommissioning) and in services such as:
- Asset management operating model design & transformation
- ISO 55001 aligned asset management system development
- Regulatory business planning and adaptive planning
- Asset portfolio investment prioritisation & optimisation
- Benefit-led prioritisation, innovation and business change programs
- Operational efficiency improvement
- Asset information and data maturity improvement
- Significant experience in business development, bidding and securing sales in a consulting environment
- Strong understanding of delivering management consulting projects from mobilisation to delivery
- Excellent communication skills with relationships at senior levels (Board/Exec)
- Strong team leadership, collaboration and commercial management
- Ability to understand business problems and develop practical improvements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Relevant industry qualifications to Business Advisory or Asset Management are preferable, and/or membership in a relevant industry body, or the desire to work towards one (e.g., MCA and/or IAM).
