We are seeking an ambitious Associate Project Manager to join our thriving North West Project Management team. If you excel in delivering service excellence, have a client‑centric approach, and embrace new challenges, we invite you to help shape the future of our business. You will play a key role in major Residential, Commercial, and Sports & Leisure projects, working across these sectors and gaining breadth of experience with industry leading clients in the region. This is a unique opportunity to lead the delivery of high‑value, complex programmes and contribute to our continued growth and innovation.

Working within an established successful team, your work will extend from early project concept stages to managing design through pre‑contract phases, advising on procurement, and managing delivery through to a successful completion on site. Ideally you will be an RICS or similarly qualified professional and highly experienced in undertaking the Employer’s Agent role under the JCT suite of contracts. The role is for flexible working, with two days per week from the Manchester office to allow for collaboration with our team.

  • Project Leadership & Client Engagement
  • Lead Project Management and Employer’s Agent assignments from inception to completion, ensuring projects (ÂŁ10m–£100m+) are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Serve as main client contact, fostering trusted relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance client value.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience with proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Technical Excellence
  • Lead the implementation of projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams and working to mid-long term timescales, to ensure delivery standards meet client expectations.
  • Translate project objectives into briefs, execution plans and programmes.
  • Set the project delivery approach in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Establish and implement appropriate governance and control mechanisms to assure delivery.
  • Track and manage project budgets to deliver the required scope of work within the set parameters.
  • Procure multi-disciplinary design and consultant teams, and manage through pre-contract design phases.
  • Provide technical advice on procurement and contracting strategies.
  • Management procurement activities in collaboration with project Cost Consultants.
  • Present any project risks or issues to senior client stakeholders, along with strategies for management and mitigation, to ensure that the project is not adversely impacted.
  • Liaise and collaborate with clients and stakeholders in order to ensure all parties are informed on project progress.
  • Use own knowledge of industry best standards to provide strategic advice on how to keep progress to programme.
  • Deliver diligent and technical sound administration of construction contracts.
  • Provide pro‑active advice to clients on interpretation of the contract and risk of claims.
  • Support and manage internal teams and resources, coaching colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver the role of Line Manager for a small number of direct reports.
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, project scope, and best practice standards.
  • Analyse complex data to inform decision‑making, using industry‑leading digital tools and methodologies.
  • Champion innovation and service enhancement, adopting new technologies and promoting sustainable solutions.
  • Act as a technical expert in project management, providing guidance across multiple sectors.
  • Demonstrate a positive mindset and willingness to be a focal point of the team.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Chartered professional (MRICS or similarly qualified professional), with significant project management experience, including delivery of medium/large projects (ÂŁ1m–£100m+) across full project lifecycle.
  • Experience managing people, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Proven track record in building and managing client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Subject matter expert in the Project Management discipline.
  • Experience in managing business relationships at senior‑management level.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of organisational dynamics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Commitment to sustainability and continuous professional development.
