We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Health Policy Director to join the healthcare communications team of a celebrated Top 20 integrated agency. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned leader with a strong background in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with some of the world’s leading healthcare brands and organisations, delivering campaigns that influence decision-makers, policymakers, and patients across pharmaceuticals and biotech; healthcare provision; patient advocacy; Global health / NGOs; government and consumer health.
We are looking for someone who lives and breathes health policy, public affairs and communications. This is a senior agency role, so we are open to talking to candidates from in-house and government backgrounds, but you will need agency experience in recent years and be looking to return to agency as a career move.
Key Responsibilities as Director:- Client Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to senior clients, providing strategic counsel with regard to healthcare policy. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring the delivery of high-impact programmes.
- Business Development: Lead new business efforts, including proactive prospecting, responding to RFPs, and pitching for new accounts. Drive growth within the existing client portfolio.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor teams to deliver best-in-class campaigns. Oversee operational delivery, including capacity planning, profitability, forecasting, and billing.
- Campaign Excellence: Collaborate with colleagues both within the health team and the wider agency to create and deliver influential campaigns that exceed client expectations.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in healthcare policy.
- Proven expertise in delivering high impact campaigns communications, including a strong understanding of policy strategy, regulatory landscapes, stakeholder engagement, and the health ecosystem.
- A track record of delivering complex, multi-market campaigns with demonstrable outcomes.
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams to success.
- A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
