The Air Conditioning Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, and servicing of a range of air conditioning systems, including split systems and VRV/VRF configurations, across commercial and industrial sites. This hands-on role requires technical competence in both installation and commissioning, with familiarity across major HVAC brands and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
Working both independently and as part of a team, the Air Conditioning Engineer will be expected to deliver high-standard installations and system commissioning while upholding Arcade UK Ltd's health and safety values and contributing to smooth site operations.
Key Responsibilities- System Installation & Commissioning
- Install split systems and VRV/VRF air conditioning systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications and project requirements.
- Set up and commission systems from major HVAC manufacturers including Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Samsung, Midea, and others.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and schematics to ensure correct installation and system integration.
- Conduct system testing and performance checks to ensure optimal operation and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation and commissioning issues, providing technical feedback to supervisors or design teams where necessary.
- Health, Safety and Compliance
- Work in line with Work Instructions, Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RAMS), and relevant legislation.
- Maintain a strong focus on safe working practices on all jobs, protecting the safety of self, colleagues, and site stakeholders.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and refrigerant handling are conducted in accordance with F-Gas regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Complete commissioning records, installation logs, and service reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Submit documentation through digital systems where applicable and ensure traceability of works and equipment data.
- Provide feedback on site conditions, technical issues, and system performance to relevant project personnel.
- Client and Site Interaction
- Represent Arcade UK Ltd professionally when interacting with clients, consultants, and site managers.
- Collaborate with other trades and project stakeholders to support coordinated project delivery.
- Provide guidance to less experienced team members where applicable.
- Housekeeping and Equipment Care
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and professional work environment.
- Conduct daily and weekly checks on company vehicles and tools, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Strong technical knowledge of air conditioning systems, including split and VRV/VRF systems.
- Demonstrated experience installing and commissioning systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Samsung, Midea, and similar brands.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and commissioning data.
- Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and RAMS compliance.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in varied and fast-paced site environments.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving approach.
