We are seeking an experienced Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA to deliver a full migration from a legacy Oracle estate to Azure Database for PostgreSQL within a public sector environment. This is a hands-on, execution-led contract focused on successful migration, stability and optimisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and refine existing migration strategy and POC
- Assess current Oracle environment and define migration path
- Execute full Oracle to PostgreSQL migration
- Implement backup, rollback and validation processes
- Resolve compatibility and performance issues
- Optimise and right-size remaining Oracle infrastructure
Experience:
- Strong Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA background (5+ years)
- Proven Oracle to PostgreSQL migration delivery
- Experience with RAC, Data Guard and CDB/PDB
- PostgreSQL performance tuning expertise
- Migration tooling (ora2pg, pg_dump, pg_restore)
- Azure exposure
6 months | Outside IR35 | Remote with occasional travel | Start within 2 weeks preferred
