ARCA is supporting an aerospace programme seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist with detailed design. The role is hands-on, focused on CAD generation, detailing and design maturation across rotor components such as blades, hubs, spinners and blade pitch mechanisms.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce and maintain 3D CAD models and assemblies
  • Create 2D detail drawings suitable for formal release
  • Support design iteration as loads, stress and manufacturing inputs mature
  • Work closely with Stress, Manufacturing and Checking teams to resolve design issues
  • Prepare CAD and drawing packs for PLM release

Design inputs:

  • System and component requirements
  • Existing CAD models and assemblies
  • 2D & 3D Design including GD&T
  • Stress feedback, load cases and FEM inputs

Tools:

  • 3DXPLM / configuration management systems

Contract details:

  • Bristol-based (hybrid)
  • Outside IR35
  • February start - contract through to year-end
