Buyer β Engineering Scale-Up β Bristol - Permanent position Full time, hybrid (ideally 3 days per week onsite). I am advertising on behalf of my exciting client, a fast-growing engineering scale-up, looking for a Buyer to join their procurement team. The Role:
- As a Buyer, you will play a key role in sourcing high-quality materials and components, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring a smooth and efficient procurement process.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers to ensure the best quality, cost, and reliability.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing to optimize supply chain costs.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to meet material and component needs.
- Manage purchase orders, invoices, and delivery schedules for timely supply.
- Conduct market research to stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Proactively address supply chain challenges to minimize disruptions.
- Support inventory management improvements and continuous procurement optimizations.
What Weβre Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Buyer in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of supply chain dynamics and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication skills β able to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have:
- Relevant experience as a Buyer or a degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering.
- Experience with MS Dynamics and international logistics.
