Bristol, UK (Hybrid Working) A leading global engineering organisation is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to support the development of advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This is an opportunity to play a key role in complex, high-technology product development programmes, working from concept through to customer commissioning and field trials. The successful candidate will operate at the centre of engineering and product development activities, applying best-practice Systems Engineering methodologies to deliver innovative products on time, within budget and to specification.

The Role

  • Apply Systems Engineering tools and methodologies across the full product lifecycle
  • Translate product vision into clear and structured requirements using approaches such as Use Cases, Context Diagrams and System Architectures
  • Utilise Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to develop functional, logical and behavioural system architectures
  • Work collaboratively across multidisciplinary engineering teams to define work packages, manage trade-off studies and resolve technical challenges
  • Lead, mentor and develop Systems Engineers across varying levels of experience
  • Support the ongoing development and integration of Systems Engineering processes across the wider business
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple functions and organisational levels

About You

  • A degree in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ practical Systems Engineering experience within a comparable engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of best-practice Systems Engineering methodologies
  • Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven industries
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • The ability to lead technical activities and drive delivery without direct authority
  • A high level of integrity, accountability and a results-focused mindset
  • Semiconductor manufacturing equipment or other highly regulated technology sectors
