The Role
As ARCA continues to grow, we’re investing in our contract recruitment capability and are looking for a senior managing consultant to lead it from the front. You’ll be the subject-matter expert for contract technology and engineering recruitment. Initially hands-on, you’ll design and scale our contractor solutions, embed best practice, and build and lead a team underneath you. You’ll report directly into the Co-Founder and work closely with the leadership team as the business continues to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Building & Leading
- Own the strategy and execution of ARCA’s contractor recruitment solutions across engineering and technology.
- Define how we attract, engage, place and retain contractors in medtech, medical devices and adjacent engineering sectors.
- Shape commercial models including margins, rates, IR35 and client solutions.
- Hands-On Delivery
- Personally manage and grow a high-value contract desk.
- Win new contract opportunities and expand existing client relationships.
- Deliver against live roles across engineering, software, electronics, systems and project teams.
- Client Partnership
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on contractor hiring strategies.
- Support workforce planning, ramp-ups, project hiring and embedded solutions.
- Maintain high standards around compliance, quality and delivery pace.
- Building a Team
- Hire, mentor and develop contract recruiters as the desk scales.
- Put structure and process in place without sacrificing pace or culture.
- Lead from the front… this is not a hands-off role.
What success looks like
- Build a high-performing contract desk from a solid base.
- Win and grow long-term engineering-led client relationships.
- Be trusted as the contract recruitment expert internally and externally.
- Put the structure in place to scale a team underneath you.
Who this is for
- Experienced contract recruiter in engineering or tech.
- Someone who understands rates, margins, IR35 and delivery, not just CVs.
- Comfortable operating in complex, regulated, technical environments.
- Ambitious enough to build something, not just maintain a desk.
What this is not
- Not a volume / transactional desk.
- Not a hands-off “manager” role.
- Not a step-up role for someone still learning contract recruitment.
Why ARCA
- Genuine ownership and influence.
- Direct access to founders.
- Clear progression path.
- Excellent salary, industry-leading commission scheme, and end-of-year bonus.
- High-performance, values-led culture.
- Strong emerging brand across engineering, life sciences and digital healthcare.
