Role Overview: We are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Security Analyst to join our security team. In this role you will be the first point of contact for security incidents and queries, working on our 1st line security helpdesk while supporting customer reporting and wider security projects. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the security team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 1st Line Security Helpdesk
  • Security Incidents
  • Customer communication at 1st line, keeping clients updated on incident progress
  • Security Queries
  • Responding to Security Alerts, including AV Alerts and Queues
  • Escalate to 2nd line where resolution cannot be found
  • Ticket triage, prioritisation and SLA management via the ticketing system
  • Incoming alerts and remediations
  • Health-checks
  • Security platform generated Incidents (1st line)
  • Team admin and housekeeping

The Junior Security Analyst Will Also Work Towards:

  • Customer security review preparations
  • Responding to alerts and supporting alert remediation workflows
  • Producing and distributing scheduled customer security reports
  • Reviews of security products
  • CE submissions and renewals
  • Assistance with other security projects and posture assessments
  • Administration of vulnerability management
  • DMARC compliance reviews
  • Phishing and Security awareness campaigns

The Junior Security Analyst will be required to assist in any other supporting capacity within the team.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Must be able to work on own initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have a passion for Information and Cyber Security
  • Experience working in an MSP environment preferred, along with an understanding of Security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with Cyber Essentials (Standard and Plus) beneficial
  • Basic knowledge of vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, email gateway capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of MS365 security and best practices
  • Familiarity with Autotask and Datto RMM preferred
  • Awareness of SIEM or EDR tooling beneficial
  • Previous service desk or customer-facing experience desirable, even outside of security
