Role Overview: The Internal Sales Support role exists to keep the sales operation running efficiently and accurately. The postholder provides administrative and process support to the sales team, ensuring quotations, orders and CRM records are handled correctly and on time, freeing account managers and sales staff to focus on customer relationships, opportunities and revenue growth. This is not an account-owning role. The postholder does not hold responsibility for a book of customers but works across the sales team supporting multiple account managers and their accounts as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Administration: Process customer orders, quotations, and renewals accurately and within agreed timescales. Prepare and format proposals, quotes, and sales documentation to a consistent, professional standard. Coordinate sales meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation and minute-taking where required. Prepare regular sales reports and pipeline updates for management.
- CRM and Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions, orders and account details in the CRM/PSA system. Monitor data quality within the CRM, flagging gaps or inconsistencies to the relevant account manager. Track contract renewal and service dates, providing timely alerts to account managers ahead of expiry.
- Sales Team Support: Act as a first point of contact for administrative enquiries relating to orders, quotes and CRM records. Support account managers with day-to-day administrative tasks to enable them to focus on customer-facing activity. Respond to routine customer enquiries where appropriate, escalating to the relevant account manager for anything requiring commercial judgement or relationship ownership.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with technical, finance and operations teams to ensure orders and quotes are processed smoothly and information flows correctly between systems. Support the onboarding of new orders into delivery teams, ensuring handover information is complete and accurate.
