I am currently recruiting on behalf of my client, a well-established manufacturing business, for an experienced SHEQ Manager to oversee Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality systems within their factory operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company where you will play a key role in shaping site standards, promoting a safety-first culture, and embedding continuous improvement across all functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Health & Safety
- Develop and enforce H&S policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through training and staff engagement.
- Ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations and maintain relevant certifications.
- Manage and maintain ISO 9001 or equivalent quality standards.
- Support production teams to ensure product quality meets all specifications.
- Lead internal quality audits and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis on non-conformances and drive improvements.
- Maintain ISO 14001 or equivalent environmental management systems.
- Drive environmental sustainability, focusing on waste reduction and compliance.
- Manage reporting of emissions, waste disposal, and regulatory audits.
- Work with production teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Introduce and embed Lean principles or other CI frameworks.
- Monitor SHEQ KPIs and provide regular reports to senior leadership.
- Act as lead contact for auditors, HSE officials, and suppliers.
Candidate Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience in a SHEQ role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Confident communicator with excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- Experience leading audits, managing compliance, and delivering training.
