An established commercial vehicle manufacturing and fit-out business is looking for a Skilled Auto Electrician to join its workshop team.
This role involves electrical installation, diagnostics, and testing on commercial trucks, including vehicles fitted with cranes and lifting equipment (HIAB, FASSI, Palfinger, VDL, etc.).
Key Duties:
- Diagnose, repair, and install electrical systems on trucks and commercial vehicles
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Use diagnostic equipment (multimeters, scanners, laptop interfaces)
- Install wiring looms, lighting circuits, batteries, alternators, and control units
- Carry out electrical installation and testing on vehicle-mounted cranes
- Fault-finding and basic calibration of crane electrical systems
- Work alongside fabrication and hydraulics teams during vehicle build
- Complete quality checks and ensure compliance with safety standards
Requirements:
- Recognised qualification in automotive electrical systems or vehicle maintenance
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician (commercial vehicles preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
Desirable:
- Experience with crane or heavy equipment electrics
- Knowledge of vehicle-mounted or industrial control systems
