ARC Recruitment are recruiting Production Operatives for a cutting-edge vertical farming facility in Easton, Norwich. This innovative site grows fresh herbs and salads indoors all year round. This is a great opportunity for ongoing work with the chance of a permanent contract after 12 weeks. Immediate starts available.
Shift Details
- Initial hours: Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 14:00
- Future shift pattern: 4 on / 4 off, 06:00 – 18:00
- Pay rate: £12.21 rising to £12.27 after 2 successful weeks training / £13.68 rising to £13.75 after 2 successful weeks training (PAYE / PAYE AUTO) £12.56 per hour after 12 weeks
- Contract: Temp to Perm after 12 weeks
Key Responsibilities
- Placing wet mats into aluminium trays
- Accurately seeding mats
- Trimming and sizing products to customer specifications
- Manual weighing and bulk packing of produce
- Packing finished goods ready for distribution
- Preparing production lines for daily operations
- Carrying out hygiene duties including cleaning, mopping, and general tidying
Working Conditions & PPE
- General working area temperature: 18°C
- Packing room temperature: 8°C (suitable clothing recommended)
- Full PPE provided, including: Overalls, Hairnet, Wellington boots
- Additional PPE such as face masks and safety glasses required in some areas
Candidate Requirements
- Previous food production or manufacturing experience preferred
- Comfortable working in cooler environments
- Reliable, hardworking, and team-focused
- Able to adapt to the 4 on / 4 off shift pattern after training
- Own transport essential due to rural location and shift times
