Role Summary: ARC is currently looking for a Management Accountant to work for an established social housing contractor. The Management Accountant reports directly into the business director and aims to provide financial insight to support management decisions through monthly management accounts, KPI reports and ad hoc analysis as required.
Key Duties:
- Management accounts production – posting of journal entries and production of monthly WIP schedule to support monthly MA production.
- Maintenance of fixed asset register.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Overseeing payroll function & responsibility for monthly salary payment.
- Monitoring of daily cashflow forecast.
- Weekly payment runs to suppliers & sub‑contractors.
- Lead role in statutory audit for trading company.
- Quarterly VAT returns.
- Production of monthly management report.
- Weekly WIP monitoring & reporting.
- Ad hoc analysis & tasks as required – e.g. customer profitability reviews, ONS returns, CITB levy submissions, etc.
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified or working towards an accounting qualification.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Good working knowledge with Excel & accounting systems.
- Confident in engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Previous experience within the construction industry.
