About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our clients team based in Suffolk on a permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure ongoing compliance with company health and safety standards, NHBC regulations, building codes, and quality benchmarks.
- Coordinate site labour and resources to meet build schedules for larger projects, proactively managing trades for optimal efficiency.
- Conduct quality control inspections as directed, addressing any defects to avoid extra costs or delays while maintaining high standards.
- Monitor production costs and approve contractor payments as necessary.
- Initiate and participate in site inspections with local building inspectors or NHBC, taking corrective actions to minimise non-compliance issues.
- Conduct toolbox talks and on-site briefings to promote commitment and best practices.
- Proactively manage risks, build sequencing, and overall site quality.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure project timelines are met.
- Work closely with Sales through regular meetings to facilitate smooth home deliveries for customers.
- Maintain high standards of site presentation at all times.
- Conduct new home demonstrations with Sales Advisors and customers, addressing questions and resolving issues prior to legal completion.
- Support the Contracts Manager in ensuring the construction team is well-resourced and guided, providing clear job responsibilities and support for effective communication, training, and workload organisation.
- Exemplify best practices in health and safety, organisation, conduct, quality, and professionalism.
About You
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Builders or qualified to NVQ level 5 in Construction Management, or a seasoned tradesperson with extensive construction experience.
- Significant experience managing established build programmes and key priorities.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of delivering quality and meeting weekly targets through effective labour organisation and teamwork.
- Excellent communicator, skilled in detailing and ensuring full compliance.
- Ability to prioritise tasks in response to shifting business needs, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of all aspects of construction and housebuilding, including relevant legislation such as health and safety, NHBC guidelines, and building regulations.
- Comprehensive experience in customer interactions, providing information, resolving issues, and confirming company procedures.
