Job Description
Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wisbech/Norwich/Grantham
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 per annum
Company & Project:
Our client, a well-known family run social housing contractor is currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them on a permanent basis due to company expansion.
Duties & Responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- To undertake all Quantity Surveying duties on your contracts.
- To direct and control all financial and legal aspects of your construction contract ensuring that it is profitable.
- To be aware of the company's business plan and its aims
- To establish, maintain, and enhance effective working relationships with the client and all members of the client's team.
- Prepare any loss and expense claims arising out of the extension of time claims.
- Ensure all subcontractors are on our approved list
- Working with the contract team to manage the design on a design and build contract with a view of ensuring that changes are made for the financial benefit of the company.
- Working with the team to ensure that the request for information schedule Includes and financial or legal elements
- To establish a procurement strategy, with a procurement schedule In line with the time requirements of the operational and design deliverables for the project.
Desirable Experience required to work as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- A very high level of commercial awareness of the industry
- A good knowledge of, building law, the law of contract and statutory requirements.
- An understanding of financial management.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
Qualifications & Skills required to work as a Senior Quantity Surveyor:
- Good organisational and presentation skills
- General business awareness, a practical mind and sound judgement
- Must have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team
