We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Transport Manager / Planner to join their operation based on the outskirts of Norwich. This is a key appointment within a busy transport environment, suited to a hands-on professional who can balance strategic oversight with day-to-day planning responsibilities.

Position Overview

  • This role will take ownership of transport coordination and compliance, ensuring the smooth running of fleet operations while maintaining full adherence to UK transport legislation.
  • The successful candidate will play a central role in optimising routes, managing drivers and ensuring operational performance targets are achieved.
  • Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence undertakings and legal obligations.
  • Oversee driver scheduling, holiday planning and resource allocation.
  • Act as the main point of contact for transport-related queries internally and externally.
  • Analyse performance data and implement improvements to reduce costs and increase productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to budgeting, cost control and fuel performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Valid Transport Manager CPC (essential).
  • Demonstrable experience within a transport management or planning role.
  • Sound understanding of UK transport law and compliance standards.
  • Strong organisational and route-planning capabilities.
