HGV Class 2 Driver – Chilled Distribution (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Swineshead / Boston Area, Lincolnshire (PE20 postcode area)
Rate of Pay: Highly Competitive Hourly Rate (Please inquire for specific PAYE rates)
The Opportunity:
ARC is recruiting on behalf of a major food distribution and logistics client based in the Swineshead/Boston area. This is a fantastic Temporary to Permanent opportunity for a reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to secure a long-term position with a reputable, established company.
The successful candidate will be a vital link in the food supply chain, delivering chilled goods and ensuring that quality and safety standards are maintained throughout the process.

Contract: Temporary to Permanent (after a qualifying period)
- Pay: £15.68ph – £18ph

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

Start Time: Early AM starts, typically around 03:30 AM.

Hours: Full-time hours, with shifts often involving 8-12 hours depending on the route and delivery schedule.

Work Type: Multi-drop deliveries of temperature-controlled (chilled) goods using cage or palletised loads.
Key Responsibilities

Operating a HGV Class 2 (Category C) refrigerated vehicle safely and efficiently.

Conducting multi-drop deliveries of chilled produce to distribution centres, wholesale sites, or retail locations across a set regional route.

Ensuring the correct temperature is maintained in the trailer throughout the journey.

Performing manual handling tasks, including operating a tail-lift and moving cages/pallets of goods to the delivery point.

Carrying out thorough vehicle checks (walkaround checks) before and after each shift, reporting any defects immediately.

Accurately completing all necessary delivery paperwork, digital tachograph records, and temperature logs.

Adhering strictly to all EU Drivers' Hours, WTD, and food hygiene regulations.
Candidate Requirements

Hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence.

Have a valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC) and Digital Tachograph Card.

Previous experience in refrigerated or chilled distribution is highly desirable.

Be comfortable with early morning start times (from 03:30 AM).

A maximum of 6 penalty points on your licence (for insurance purposes).
