I'm currently working with a well-established and growing residential main contractor who is looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor. This is a business with a strong pipeline of work across high-quality housing and apartment schemes, a solid reputation in the market, and a genuinely good culture – low turnover, supportive leadership, and realistic workloads.
They are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of projects from pre-contract through to final account and play a key role in the commercial success of the business.
The Role
- You'll be responsible for the full commercial management of one or more residential projects, including:
- Full cost management of projects from tender to final account
- Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Valuations, variations, and change control
- Subcontractor account management and payments
- Final accounts and project close-out
- Working closely with site and project management teams
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Strong background in residential construction (housing, apartments, mixed-use)
- Good commercial and contractual knowledge
- Confident managing your own projects and dealing with subcontractors
- Well organised, commercially aware, and proactive in approach
