The Opportunity: Our client, a leading main contractor specialising in commercial construction projects, is seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced QS to take ownership of project costs and play a key role in delivering high-quality commercial builds.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for commercial projects
- Monitoring and controlling project expenditure, identifying cost efficiencies
- Managing contracts, procurement, and subcontractor agreements
- Conducting valuations, measurements, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle
- Providing commercial guidance to project teams and clients
- Performing post-project cost reviews and preparing final accounts
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment, ideally in commercial construction
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control processes
- Proficiency with cost management software (e.g., CostX) and Excel
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- RICS membership or working toward it is desirable
