A global financial services organisation is seeking a talented individual to take ownership of technology resilience and crisis response at enterprise level. This is a high-impact position suitable for someone who thrives in pressure situations, can calmly coordinate large technical response teams, and has the credibility to brief senior executives during major technology incidents.
The opportunity Technology disruption is now a board-level risk. This role exists to bring structure, governance, and clarity to how the organisation responds to major technology incidents, including ransomware and cyber-related events. You will shape and own the technology crisis management operating model, moving the organisation towards a repeatable, well-governed approach. This is not a technology implementation role. It is about leadership, coordination, and decision support when it matters most.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and embedding a technology crisis management and resilience framework
- Establishing clear governance, roles, and escalation structures for major incidents
- Leading the technology response during crises, coordinating internal teams and outsourced partners
- Acting as the central point of control during major incidents, ensuring calm, structured execution
- Providing clear, concise updates to senior decision-makers throughout an incident
- Running post-incident reviews and driving continuous improvement
- Shaping the future operating model, with scope to build a small team over time
What we’re looking for:
- Significant experience in technology resilience, crisis management, or major incident leadership within banking or regulated financial services
- Demonstrable experience of having designed and implemented a technology crisis / resilience framework previously - not just operating within an existing model
- First-hand experience leading the technology response to major incidents (e.g. cyber, ransomware, large-scale outages)
- Confidence and credibility operating at executive level during live incidents
- Ability to calmly coordinate large, cross-functional technical teams under pressure
- Broad technical understanding across enterprise technology environments
Why this role is interesting:
- You’ll shape the role, not inherit a finished model
- High visibility with senior leadership
- Real influence over how the organisation responds to its most serious technology risks
- Clear future scope to build and lead a team
