Solutions Architect / Technology Delivery Lead is sought by a highly prestigious City based financial services organisation. This is a new role, based in their Digital Solutions team who are responsible for the selection, delivery, support and lifecycle management of all applications serving within investment banking. This is a senior, hands‑on technology role combining solution architecture leadership with end‑to‑end delivery responsibility.
You'll be the primary technology lead for key application initiatives: shaping designs, providing architectural oversight across concurrent projects, and working closely with delivery teams, external developers, vendors and Group IT to ensure solutions are secure, scalable and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translating business requirements into architecture, integration designs and technical roadmaps
- Acting as a trusted technology advisor to senior business leadership
- Overseeing design and development of integrations between in‑house and vendor applications
- Working with IT Security, Infosec, Compliance and Legal to ensure solutions meet governance requirements
- Supporting delivery governance: risk, dependency and stakeholder management
- Contributing to AI‑enabled solutions, data/archiving projects and CRM platform development
Key Requirements:
- A career grounded in software development, with clear progression into solution architecture or senior technical leadership
- Solid understanding of integration architecture, APIs, SaaS/PaaS environments and cloud‑based solutions
- A DevSecOps mindset: security and compliance considered from design, not as an afterthought
- Experience delivering technology in regulated or compliance‑driven environments (financial services preferred; other regulated sectors considered)
- The ability to read, review and direct code‑level work, even where hands‑on development is not the primary focus
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with senior business stakeholders, vendors and technical teams alike
This role is not a pure architecture position. You'll be expected to get involved, direct external development teams, contribute to proof‑of‑concept work where needed, and operate as a genuine delivery leader.
