Highly competitive plus benefits and bonus

A prestigious global financial services firm are seeking a self-starting Workday Payroll SME & Testing Lead. This role will see you being responsible for the maintenance, configuration and support of the Workday Payroll modules for both their US and UK populations. They run payroll across 19 countries. US and UK stay in Workday. The other 16 move onto a single global payroll platform, replacing 16 separate providers with one. This role sits right in the middle of it.

There are two halves to the job:

  • Payroll SME: Day to day operational support for UK and US Workday Payroll. Configuration, business process updates, production issues, year end. It is UK weighted, but you need to be able to cover US too. You will partner with an experienced payroll module lead rather than carry it on your own.
  • Testing lead: You own testing for the global rollout. Writing the test strategy from scratch, building the scripts, coordinating and executing each cycle, and sending a weekly situation report to the wider programme. The plan is roughly two countries every six months. You will have 3rd parties available to you.

What you need:

  • Hands on Workday Payroll experience in a live production environment, UK in particular
  • Experience leading and coordinating testing on a major implementation or programme.
  • PECI exposure. You do not need to build integrations or troubleshoot them in depth, but you do need to be able to open a file when something fails, work out what has gone wrong and route it to the right place.
  • The confidence to hold your own with senior stakeholders across HR, payroll, benefits, finance and an external vendor
  • Right to work in the UK

Nice to have:

  • Workday Payroll certification, Time Tracking and Absence, integrations and advanced reporting, previous work alongside 3rd parties.

Worth knowing before you apply:

  • Fully remote. The team has worked this way for three years and is genuinely results driven. No office days.
  • This programme is early in its life and the product is new. If you want clear instructions and the same day repeated, this is not the role. If you like working things out, it is a good one.
