We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Fire & Security Alarm Engineer to join our growing team based around Saffron Walden. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a stable, long-term position, with flexibility for temporary arrangements if preferred. In this on-site role, you will install, maintain, and repair fire alarm and security systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fire safety protocols and technical troubleshooting skills. Collaboration with clients and attention to detail are necessary for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation, servicing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems
- Fault finding and repair of fire and security systems
- Working on intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control systems
- Ensuring all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations
- Providing excellent customer service and maintaining strong client relationships
- Completing all necessary documentation and reports accurately
Requirements
- Proven experience working with fire alarm and/or security systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards (e.g. BS5839)
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer-facing skills
Desirable (but not essential)
- FIA or relevant industry qualifications
- Experience with a range of manufacturers and systems
- ECS/CSCS card
