Solution Architect Azure NET
London, hybrid (2 days a week in the office) | Permanent | Up to £90,000 + benefits
Our client is a well-established, purpose-led UK organisation with a large and diverse customer base across the public and private sectors. They’re partway through an ambitious transformation, shifting towards delivering their future capabilities as technology-enabled products on Microsoft Azure, including a growing range of AI-related services.
They’re looking for a hands-on Solution Architect from a .NET background to act as design authority across their core platforms, customer-facing APIs, commercial systems and data architecture. You’ll translate business and product strategy into secure, scalable and cost-effective designs that engineering teams can deliver with confidence, working closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Security and the PMO.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading end-to-end solution design on Azure, from requirements through to high-level and detailed designs, with clear artefacts including ADRs, integration and data flow diagrams and NFRs
- Designing cloud-native solutions using App Service, Functions, Container Apps/AKS, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Grid and Logic Apps
- Defining API standards and patterns using Azure API Management, enabling customers to integrate directly with the platform from their own tools and workflows
- Designing integration across a commercial stack covering CRM, contracting, payments, entitlements and renewals
- Shaping the Azure data architecture (Data Factory, Data Lake, Fabric or Synapse) to support BI, reporting, AI and stakeholder transparency
- Embedding security by design, including Entra ID, zero trust, secrets management and network security, alongside resilience, DR, UK GDPR and audit requirements
- Assessing build, buy and SaaS options and making clear recommendations on cost, risk and time to value
- Championing IaC, CI/CD and the Well-Architected Framework, running design reviews and mentoring engineers
- Evaluating emerging technologies, including Azure OpenAI, and ensuring their ethical and compliant use
What you’ll bring
- A software engineering background in NET/C#, with the hands-on credibility to guide engineers through implementation
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect designing and delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure
- Strong knowledge of Azure PaaS and serverless, plus cloud networking, Entra ID and security
- API and integration architecture experience across REST, event-driven and messaging patterns
- Data architecture experience spanning relational and NoSQL stores and analytics platforms
- Infrastructure as code (Bicep, ARM or Terraform) and DevOps using Azure DevOps or GitHub
- Experience designing for security, resilience and DR in a regulated or data-rich environment
- Experience integrating commercial systems such as CRM, payments, subscriptions or entitlements
- The ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly to non-technical and senior stakeholders
This is a chance to shape the architecture of an organisation in genuine transformation, with real influence over roadmap and design decisions and exposure to AI-driven product development. You’ll join a collaborative, values-led team that offers hybrid flexibility and an environment where your expertise will be visible and valued.
