We're supporting a high-traffic global e-commerce platform in its search for a Senior Software Engineer to improve its pricing, inventory and availability systems. This is a hands-on role focused on building reliable, scalable services that process millions of customer searches across multiple international markets.
What you'll be working on:
- Building and improving pricing, inventory and availability services
- Developing quote-caching and data freshness strategies
- Designing resilient APIs and third-party integrations
- Reducing latency and improving platform performance
- Balancing pricing accuracy with cache efficiency and infrastructure cost
- Improving monitoring, tracing and production observability
- Owning solutions from investigation through to deployment
Essential experience:
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Experience building pricing, inventory or availability systems
- Background in a high-traffic e-commerce, marketplace or travel platform
- Strong understanding of caching, data freshness and cache invalidation
- Experience designing reliable APIs using retries, timeouts, idempotency and backpressure
- Good SQL knowledge
- Experience integrating unreliable or poorly documented third-party APIs
- Strong production ownership across testing, CI/CD, deployment and monitoring
- Regular use of AI coding tools or LLM-based development tools
Nice to have:
- C#/.NET or Python
- Cloud platforms and Terraform
- Datadog, distributed tracing, profiling or flame graphs
- Dynamic pricing, edge technologies or travel-sector experience
