About the role

As an Assistant Manager you are accountable for the full venue and all aspects of management on shifts but your key KPIS are the sport and entertainment side of the business.

This role is integral in ensuring Box is the ultimate bar to Watch, Play and Party.

Through expert knowledge and flawless execution this role ensures that the venue has an unbeatable atmosphere, and provides the best bar experience, whatever occasion, upholding our nobody does it better standards.

Some responsibilities include

  • Own the weekly entertainment schedule: live bands and Bandeoke, DJs and be present at key times to ensure the atmosphere is best in class
  • Coordinate live sport screen allocation across floors, in line with brand guidance, so major and simultaneous fixtures are given appropriate prominence
  • Be the in-site expert on sports and entertainments, to ensure that every guest has the best bar experience
  • Build team knowledge and passion on sport and entertainment
  • Work with site and sales management to ensure the flawless execution of corporate bookings and private hires
  • Lead a team that focuses on the needs of the guest and strives to deliver and exceed that expectation.
  • Lead a range of shifts in line with company practices, upholding site compliance

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a hard-working hospitality professional, with a striking personality, who is obsessed with sports and live music. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a sports bar, entertainment venue, events venue or hospitality management role, with direct exposure to live sport or entertainment
  • Genuine passion and knowledge of and enthusiasm for major UK and international sport (football, Formula 1, NFL, rugby, boxing, etc.)
  • Experience leading shifts in a high-volume bar operation
  • Exceptional understanding of atmosphere, lighting and music
  • Strong supplier and stakeholder relationship management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills - able to juggle a live sport calendar, live music schedules and corporate events/ private hires simultaneously
