ARC are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to join a busy civil engineering and groundworks project based in Witham, Essex. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor who is comfortable managing site teams, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme. The initial contract is expected to run for approximately 8 weeks, with the possibility of longer-term work for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising groundworks operatives and subcontractors on site
- Setting out and checking levels, measurements and dimensions
- Coordinating daily site activities and ensuring works are completed to programme
- Ordering materials and arranging deliveries to site
- Monitoring labour resources and recording staff hours
- Conducting site inspections and maintaining high health and safety standards
- Liaising with site management, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors
- Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Completing site paperwork, records and progress reports as required
- Assisting with planning upcoming works and identifying potential issues before they impact programme
Requirements
- Valid SSSTS certificate (Essential)
- Previous experience supervising groundworks or civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of levels, measurements and site setting out
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Experience managing labour, materials and site resources
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred
- CSCS Card
