Are you an experienced Traffic Operator looking for your next challenge within a fast-paced container transport environment? We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing logistics business based in Felixstowe. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy operations team where you will play a key role in coordinating container movements, maximising fleet utilisation, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to customers.
Working within a dynamic transport office, you will be responsible for managing daily transport operations, liaising with drivers, ports and customers, and ensuring that all planned movements are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
The Role
- Planning and coordinating container movements from the UK’s major ports, including Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway.
- Managing vehicle schedules to maximise utilisation and profitability.
- Maintaining regular communication with drivers and ensuring strong working relationships are developed and maintained.
- Proactively resolving operational issues and responding to changing customer requirements throughout the day.
- Booking Vehicle Booking System (VBS) slots and ensuring all bookings are accurate and compliant.
- Monitoring service performance and ensuring customer expectations are consistently met.
- Working closely with colleagues across the transport operation to ensure smooth operations.
