We're working with a forward-thinking Local Authority who are looking to appoint a Developing Highways Senior Engineer to support the delivery of growth and infrastructure across the county. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in reviewing and approving highways works linked to new developments, ensuring schemes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with standards.

The Role

  • Managing S38 & S278 agreements from application through to completion
  • Reviewing and approving developer-led highway designs
  • Negotiating with developers, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Providing technical advice on planning applications
  • Overseeing site inspections and supporting road adoption

About You

  • Experience in highways or civil engineering (Local Authority or consultancy)
  • Strong knowledge of S38 / S278 agreements
  • Experience reviewing or producing highway designs
  • Confidence dealing with developers and stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently
