Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Revenues Manager to oversee the delivery of our Council Tax, NNDR and BID billing services. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring legal compliance, high-quality service delivery and strong financial performance across all revenues functions.

Duties of the role:

  • Lead Revenues Operations — Manage the end-to-end delivery of Council Tax, NNDR and BID billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure Legal & Statutory Compliance — Interpret complex legislation and oversee statutory returns including CTB1, QRC4, NNDR1 and NNDR3.
  • Drive Performance & Improvement — Monitor KPIs, accuracy levels and service outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement across the service.
  • Lead Debt Recovery Strategy — Promote effective debt management and oversee write-off recommendations within agreed limits.
  • Manage Systems & Processes — Ensure revenues systems are maintained, optimised and used effectively by all teams.
  • Provide Strong People Leadership — Lead and develop Team Managers, oversee training programmes and embed a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Oversee Budgets & Risk — Manage service budgets, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.

You must have previous proven experience in Council Tax & NNDR Legislation.
