An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join a well-established business. This is a permanent, static role based at a large manufacturing site in King's Lynn, offering excellent long-term career prospects, ongoing training, and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will work across a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment, including air conditioning systems, water chillers, and DX refrigeration systems, while leading the on-site engineering team and maintaining strong client relationships.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
  • 42.5 hours per week
  • On-call rota: 1 week in every 4

  • £150 per week on-call retainer

The Role

The Refrigeration Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, fault finding, and repair work across the site's HVAC and refrigeration systems. In addition to technical responsibilities, the successful candidate will lead and organise the on-site engineering team, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The role also involves liaising directly with the client regarding completed and upcoming works, while working closely with the Mechanical Service Manager to coordinate planned maintenance schedules and ensure service documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repair and service work.
  • Maintain air conditioning, water chillers, and DX refrigeration systems.
  • Lead and coordinate the on-site engineering team.
  • Ensure all maintenance records and service reports are completed accurately.
  • Liaise directly with the customer regarding ongoing and completed works.
  • Support the planning and organisation of future maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Refrigeration Engineer.
  • City & Guilds 2079 Refrigerant Handling Certificate (F-Gas).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience across commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • IPAF Certification.
  • PASMA Certification.
  • Relevant Skill Card.
