Job Opportunity: Project Director – Tier 1 Contractor | Cambridge Location: Cambridge Position: Project Director Team Size: Leading a team of 12 Contract Type: Permanent Salary: Highly competitive + Package Are you an experienced Project Director with the leadership capability to drive high-value construction delivery within a Tier 1 environment? We are working with a leading Tier 1 contractor who is seeking a confident and experienced Project Director to take charge of major project operations based in Cambridge. You\'ll lead a multidisciplinary team of 12 across planning, commercial, site delivery, and engineering – ensuring the seamless execution of complex construction schemes. This is a high-impact role, requiring strong leadership, strategic oversight, and a firm grasp of Tier 1 procedures. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to completion and handover Oversee and coordinate a team of 12 professionals including Project Managers, Engineers, and Commercial staff Ensure adherence to programme, budget, quality, and health & safety standards across the project Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultants, and subcontractors Apply Tier 1 governance processes including risk management, reporting, commercial controls, and compliance Contribute to strategic decision-making at both project and regional level Required Experience & Skills: Proven experience in a senior project leadership role – ideally as Project Director or Senior Project Manager delivering large-scale builds Tier 1 main contractor experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of Tier 1 processes, systems, and reporting structures Exceptional leadership, commercial awareness, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex delivery environments Relevant construction qualifications (SMSTS, CSCS Black/Platinum card, or equivalent) What’s on Offer: A senior leadership role with full project autonomy and strategic influence A high-profile position within a stable and respected Tier 1 contractor Attractive salary and benefits package Long-term career growth with regional and national progression pathways Apply Today For a confidential discussion, please contact Harry Severn on (phone number removed) or email your CV to (url removed)
