Our client is a well-established contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment, maintenance, and planned works projects across the region. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their commercial team based in Norwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administration and commercial skills who is looking to develop their career within estimating and social housing construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting the estimating team with pricing and tender submissions
- Coding up works from client documents, schedules of works, and specifications
- Producing and maintaining Excel spreadsheets and cost trackers
- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and pricing information
- Reviewing tender documentation and supporting with commercial analysis
- Managing and organising project and tender documentation
- Supporting with take-offs, variations, and cost breakdowns
- Ensuring all information is accurately recorded and submitted within deadlines
Requirements:
- Previous experience within construction, social housing, estimating, or commercial administration
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Excellent Excel and spreadsheet management skills
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret project documentation and schedules of works
- Confident communication skills when dealing with subcontractors and suppliers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience within social housing or refurbishment projects is advantageous
