We are currently working with a well-established organisation to recruit an experienced Fire Security Operative to cover a London-based property project. The Role

As a Fire Security Operative, you will join a specialist engineering team responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of fire and security systems across residential properties. The role is hands-on and customer-facing, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Servicing, maintaining, repairing, and installing fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, smoke vents, access control systems, fire shutters/curtains, and warden call systems
  • Ensuring all systems meet current British Standards and legislative requirements
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective remedial works
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and stock to a high standard

Skills & Experience Required

To be considered, candidates must hold relevant fire safety qualifications, including:

  • BS5839-1 and BS5839-6
  • NICEIC Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems Units 1, 5, and 6
  • NVQ Level 3 (or currently working towards this)
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Additional requirements:

  • Proven experience in a fire and security engineering environment
  • Strong knowledge of British Standards and fire safety legislation
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Strong customer service and communication abilities
  • Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided)
