An established contractor within the social housing sector is recruiting for a Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer to support ongoing contract growth across South East London (SE13 – Lewisham). This position focuses on PPM servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs of life safety systems across residential properties. Engineers are trusted to work independently, represent the business professionally and deliver high standards of compliance and customer service.

Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer Requirements

  • Previous experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
  • Knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional fire alarms
  • FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of BS5839 Part 1 & Part 6
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations
  • Good level of IT literacy
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Willingness to work 40+ hours per week, including overtime and out-of-hours rota
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working with:
  • Fire alarms
  • Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs)
  • CCTV
  • Access control systems
  • Warden call systems
  • Fire extinguishers

Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • £31,855 - £40,630 per annum (40 hours per week)
  • OTE up to £50,000 (including overtime, travel time & out-of-hours retainer fees)
  • Overtime paid at x1.5
