We're recruiting on behalf of a leading Civils and Groundworks subcontractor delivering works on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects at Sizewell. We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex civils and groundworks packages, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the planning, delivery and commercial performance of multiple work packages, leading site teams and working closely with clients, subcontractors and senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the safe and successful delivery of civils and groundworks packages across the Sizewell project.
- Managing Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers and site teams to ensure programme objectives are achieved.
- Developing and maintaining project programmes, resource plans and delivery strategies.
- Monitoring budgets, costs and commercial performance alongside the commercial team.
- Managing project risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensuring all works are delivered in line with contractual obligations, specifications and quality standards.
- Building strong working relationships with the client, principal contractor and key stakeholders.
- Driving programme performance while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Chairing progress meetings and providing regular reports to senior leadership.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiency across the project.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering major civils and infrastructure projects. You'll ideally have:
- Extensive experience managing large-scale Civils, Groundworks or Infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience delivering projects for Tier 1 contractors or major infrastructure clients.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Excellent commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and financial performance.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and project delivery methodologies.
- A thorough understanding of construction health & safety legislation and CDM regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred).
- SMSTS qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
