Salary: £70,000 - £75,000 + Benefits

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading Civils and Groundworks subcontractor delivering works on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects at Sizewell. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to play a key role in maintaining the highest safety standards across a major construction project. You'll work closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors, ensuring compliance, driving behavioural safety and embedding a positive health and safety culture throughout the business. The Role

As Health & Safety Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting site teams and senior management in delivering safe, compliant and efficient operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and promoting a proactive health and safety culture across the project.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to site management, supervisors and operatives.
  • Carrying out site inspections, audits and compliance checks.
  • Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Producing reports and monitoring health and safety performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with current HSE legislation, company policies and client requirements.
  • Supporting RAMS reviews and ensuring safe systems of work are implemented.
  • Delivering toolbox talks, briefings and health & safety training where required.
  • Liaising with clients, principal contractors and external stakeholders on all health and safety matters.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across site operations.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional with a background in Civil Engineering, Groundworks or Infrastructure projects. You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within Civils, Groundworks or Heavy Construction.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and construction regulations.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure or large-scale construction projects.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum).
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (desirable).
  • Membership of IOSH (GradIOSH/CMIOSH desirable).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge unsafe behaviours.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
