This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join a supportive and experienced commercial team. The Role

Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, you'll gain practical experience across the full commercial lifecycle of residential construction projects. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll take on increasing responsibility while working towards your degree and professional qualifications.

Your Responsibilities

  • Assist with the commercial management of residential construction projects.
  • Support the preparation of cost plans, budgets and valuations.
  • Help procure subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist with tender analysis and subcontractor negotiations.
  • Prepare and process subcontractor payments.
  • Monitor project costs and report on financial performance.
  • Help manage variations and change control.
  • Attend site meetings and work closely with operational teams.
  • Learn industry best practice from experienced Quantity Surveyors and senior management.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in construction and a desire to build a long-term career within Quantity Surveying. You may already have:

  • A construction-related qualification (or be working towards one).
  • A-levels, BTEC, HNC or equivalent in Construction, Engineering or a related subject.
  • Previous construction experience (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisation.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is ambitious, hardworking and eager to develop into a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor.
