Senior Site Manager Central Cambridge | £9m Conversion Project We are working with a growing developer who are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to take ownership of a £9m conversion project in the heart of Cambridge. This is not a straightforward build. The project is particularly tight and technically challenging, with a significant focus on demolition, piling, basement construction, steel frame, façade and brickwork. The development will transform an existing building into a combination of restaurant, pub and office space, creating a complex project in a highly constrained city-centre environment. Reporting directly to the Construction Director, you will be the developer's lead presence on site and will have genuine ownership of the project's day-to-day delivery. The Role This is a hands-on position suited to an experienced Senior Site Manager who is comfortable taking responsibility and making things happen. You will be responsible for: Taking full ownership of the day-to-day running of the project Managing and coordinating subcontractors and trades Driving the programme and keeping the project on track Overseeing complex works including demolition, piling, basement, steel frame, façade and brickwork Managing site logistics within a very constrained central Cambridge location Maintaining strict control over quality and workmanship Ensuring the project is delivered safely and in accordance with all relevant requirements Identifying issues early and finding practical solutions Working closely with the Construction Director and wider professional team Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders Providing clear updates on progress, programme and key project issues About You We're looking for someone who has experience when it comes to complex construction projects. You'll ideally have: Strong experience as a Senior Site Manager or experienced Site Manager A proven track record delivering complex construction or refurbishment projects Experience across demolition, piling, basement construction, steel frame, façade and brickwork Experience working on constrained or logistically challenging sites Strong programme and subcontractor management skills Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities The confidence to operate independently and take ownership High standards when it comes to quality, safety and delivery Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with senior management For more information contact Jenny Saban on (phone number removed)
