Shropshire Council is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Revenues Manager to oversee the delivery of our Council Tax, NNDR and BID billing services. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring legal compliance, high‑quality service delivery and strong financial performance across all revenues functions.
Responsibilities
- Lead Revenues Operations – manage the end‑to‑end delivery of Council Tax, NNDR and BID billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure Legal & Statutory Compliance – interpret complex legislation and oversee statutory returns including CTB1, QRC4, NNDR1 and NNDR3.
- Drive Performance & Improvement – monitor KPIs, accuracy levels and service outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement across the service.
- Lead Debt Recovery Strategy – promote effective debt management and oversee write‑off recommendations within agreed limits.
- Manage Systems & Processes – ensure revenues systems are maintained, optimised and used effectively by all teams.
- Provide Strong People Leadership – lead and develop Team Managers, oversee training programmes and embed a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Oversee Budgets & Risk – manage service budgets, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
You must have previous proven experience in Council Tax & NNDR Legislation.
