We are a well-established and growing company located on the outskirts of Cambridge, looking to appoint a proactive and hands-on Transport Manager.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating and planning multi-drop deliveries to customers
- Maximising route efficiency through strong geographical knowledge
- Managing vehicle maintenance schedules and bookings
- Monitoring driver compliance, including tachograph downloads and records
- Ensuring adherence to driving hours regulations and the Working Time Directive
- Supporting the wider team with customer interaction, including answering calls and assisting at the trade counter
This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same, offering exposure to both operational and customer-facing aspects of the business.
Qualifications
- Previous experience within a busy transport or logistics environment
- CPC qualification and strong tachograph knowledge (essential)
- A solid understanding of driver compliance, WTD, and transport regulations
- Experience within a builders merchants, construction supply, or similar environment (highly desirable)
- Confidence dealing with customers both over the phone and face-to-face
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting
- A positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to support across the team
