An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Building Control Surveyor to join a local authority team in Peterborough. This role offers the chance to work across a diverse range of projects, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations while supporting safe and high-quality development within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and process Building Regulation applications, including plan checking and approvals
  • Carry out site inspections on residential and commercial developments at various stages
  • Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, associated legislation, and health & safety standards
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to applicants, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Identify and manage non-compliance issues, including recommending corrective actions
  • Support enforcement activities where required
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to delivering a high-quality Building Control service

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Building Control Surveyor role (local authority or approved inspector)
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and construction standards
  • Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or similar discipline
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence
