Our client is a successful global investment and development organisation that has an impressive track record and unwavering profitability over several decades. A role for a lawyer with leveraged finance (encompassing private credit and/or) high yield experience has arisen in this business that provides principal financing and engages in secondary market investing across the capital structure.
The successful candidate will form part of a high-calibre, global team of lawyers who sit directly alongside a dynamic front office of high achievers. Despite this being a legal position, you will be an integral part of the deal team and not be separate from them.
More specifically you will:
- Advise on complex deal structuring across a portfolio of international clients, taking full responsibility for drafting and negotiating legal documentation across leveraged finance, real estate and private equity transactions;
- Manage the life cycle of a transaction from embryonic/strategic stages through to execution;
- Support the management of a robust loan, equity, and real estate portfolio.
We are looking for lawyers from the top-tier US and UK law firms, or those who may be considering a move from a relevant in-house team who are adept at problem solving and thinking 'outside of the box'. You must be a lawyer who can be comfortable sitting directly with a business team and can respond to queries with an ‘open door policy’ and be naturally able to disseminate complex legal matters through a commercial lens for a non-legal audience.
Aside from a leveraged finance/private credit background, in-house experience in a credit/distressed debt fund would be relevant, as would accompanying experience in matters like restructuring or real estate.
The most attractive facet of this opportunity is the expertise of the legal and business team you will be surrounded by both in London and overseas, who are collegiate and supportive. That being said you will have the freedom to work autonomously - with significant responsibility over your own portfolio of clients with a reporting line directly to the Global General Counsel for this business.
If the above is of interest, please send your CV ASAP to Matt Bloxham: 07900 692209 OR Celene Yon: 07944 390723. Due to a high volume of applications we will only respond to those we deem suitable for the role.
