An established, successful event-driven and macro hedge fund, regulated by FCA and SEC, is now looking for a Compliance Analyst to join their Legal and Compliance team, based in their London, Mayfair headquarters. This is a new role in response to growth – just last year the business performed excellently again, so it’s an exciting period for this team and a great time to join. You will report directly to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the business and perform a broad role encompassing most areas of the compliance framework, and cover some legal responsibilities too.
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Investigating potential compliance issues for new business projects, including new funds and business lines;
- Contributing to amendments of the compliance manual and helping shape future policies and procedures;
- Helping prepare the firm with FCA and SEC filings and quarterly/annual reviews, respectively;
- Assisting across a broad range of topics, such as SM&CR, surveillance and monitoring, marketing rules and sanctions;
- Working in a legal capacity (if desired) by negotiating/amending a wide scope of agreements such as NDAs, third-party marketing agreements, research agreements, IMAs etc.
What skills are we looking for?
- Ideally, 1 year of prior experience in a compliance/legal role in a hedge fund, asset manager or other business in the alternative assets space;
- A strong, prior academic background, ideally to undergraduate level.
A competitive base salary is on offer, along with an annual discretionary bonus and benefits (medical, dental etc.) This role is full time in their Mayfair office, but our client does offer some flexibility around working hours as and when needed.
