A highly profitable, UK-headquartered global business is looking for an experienced senior corporate lawyer to join its high-performing and extremely supportive legal team following a period of international growth. The role can be undertaken on a remote basis with occasional presence in the Midlands or London office. Please note that this is a regional role and salary will therefore be in line with regional brackets.
This is a newly created position for a corporate lawyer to step into a strategic, wide-ranging inâhouse role, working directly with the Group General Counsel and closely with the Senior Leadership and Board. This opportunity offers a high level of autonomy and requires a confident corporate lawyer who is looking to step into a wide role enabling you to broaden your experience in an international environment, including leading or supporting the following projects across the Group:
- Lead on corporate projects including corporate transactions, finance & taxâled transactions, managing incentive/share schemes, investor funding projects and restructuring and M&A;
- Support on governance and board activity and compliance â board reporting, policies (ABC, Code of Conduct), and best practice frameworks.
- Partner with Group Finance on debt funding, covenant compliance and new and existing financing arrangements (with support from externals).
- Supporting on more general Group commercial matters, including procurement, general commercial agreements, IP and portfolio management.
What makes this opportunity stand out?
- Rare opportunity to do quality corporate work inâhouse in an international group.
- Excellent exposure to global strategy and business growth.
- Opportunity to broaden experience into a widerâranging role across the business, gaining greater stakeholder engagement and board level involvement.
- Friendly, supportive, and ambitious culture â having supported this client for many years, we have placed numerous lawyers within this very friendly and collaborative team.
- Strong longâterm progression for the right candidate.
- Competitive salary package including car allowance ÂŁ8,600, 25 % bonus (which pays at this level).
What weâre looking for:
- Minimum 7 years' PQE (private practice or inâhouse) of broad corporate matters â it is not necessary to have experience of all the aspects of the role, but a strong desire to diversify is essential.
- Excellent technical ability and strong interpersonal skills.
- Selfâstarter with a proactive, commercial mindset.
- Experience with crossâborder/international matters would be beneficial but not essential.
- No prior inâhouse experience required.
Most lawyers who move inâhouse report greater career satisfaction, stronger relationships across the business, and a more balanced lifestyle, particularly those that move from a corporate private practice role. If youâre looking to make a meaningful, longâterm move and help shape the future of a global, purposeâled company, this is a rare opportunity to do so.
