About the Role
Arborvitae Care Services is seeking an experienced and passionate Manager to lead our Ofsted Registered Children’s homes for young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
You’ll help deliver outstanding care, lead staff and ensure regulatory compliance.
Extensive knowledge of Children’s Act, Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Regulations (REG 40, 44 & 45) is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of staff, ensuring they are supported and trained to an excellent standard to provide high-quality care and support to the children and young people living in the residential children’s home.
- Engage with children, setting examples and building excellent rapport to enable independence.
- Support with recruitment, ensuring safer recruitment processes are followed to a high standard.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare for Ofsted inspections.
- Develop care plans and oversee safeguarding procedures.
- Build strong relationships with external professionals and families.
- Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children ensuring best practice.
Person Specification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Management Role within a Children’s residential care setting, with a proven track record of achieving and sustaining Outstanding or Good Ofsted ratings within children’s home previously.
- Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards one.
- Previous Ofsted registration and strong understanding of care regulations, including MH & DOLS experience.
- Knowledge of therapeutic care, safeguarding and behaviour de-escalation.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving licence and ability to work on-call.
