Arbor Forest is looking for an experienced and motivated Wood Machinist to join our production sawmill Team at our New Holland site. This is a permanent opportunity for experienced wood machinists offering competitive pay, structured rotating shifts, and the chance to work with industry-leading woodworking machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As a Wood Machinist, you will be responsible for setting and operating our Leadermac and Waco moulders to meet the production schedule. Working from technical drawings, you'll ensure products are manufactured to specification while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You'll also work closely with Wrapper and Infeed Operatives, providing guidance, overseeing their work, and signing off completed tasks.
Key Responsibilities:- Set up and operate Leadermac 4200 and Waco moulders, including infeed and outfeed accelerator units.
- Configure moulders to the production schedule using the moulder operating system.
- Carry out daily cleaning and basic maintenance of machinery.
- Report maintenance issues using the T-card system.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure products meet specification and achieve the highest finish.
- Complete and sign off quality documentation and production records.
- Prepare process sheets and select the correct pack tickets.
- Support and oversee the wrapping process, ensuring correct machine settings and product bundling.
- Troubleshoot moulders and associated handling equipment.
- Follow all risk assessments, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and health and safety requirements.
- Work to achieve daily production targets.
- Good general education.
- Experience operating woodworking machinery (training on specific equipment can be provided).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
